Registry Easy Installation
Registry Easy version 4.9 is designed for Windows XP but can be used for Windows Vista, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000.
I installed Registry Easy 4.9 on my computer. You'll be happy to know that the license agreement states "Our applications do not contain adware or spyware of any kind."
You can install Registry Easy in a destination directory of your choice as you would expect from other quality software titles. The setup wizard indicates that 21.4 megabytes of free disk space is required for installation of this software.
There are checkboxes that allow you to create a desktop icon and Quick Launch icon. They are both selected by default but you can deselect them if you desire.

Overview of Registry Easy
Registry Easy is more than just a Registry Cleaner. It also includes an Evidence Cleaner, Junk File Cleaner, and Duplicate Cleaner among a much larger list of features. This makes Registry Easy a more robust application that serves more than one purpose. This software is a bargain when you consider all of the extra features that it contains.
For this Registry Easy review I'll only cover some of the features to keep things on the short side. The Registry Easy startup screen displays an interface for selecting different categories to scan. This is typical of software that fixes registry errors. Registry Easy has the nice addition of a "Select All" checkbox so that you can quickly set the software to do a thorough scan if you've singled categories out in previous scans.

The backups feature of Registry Easy is breaking any new ground. Every registry fix software that I've reviewed offers a backup and restoration management feature. What's nice about Registry Easy is the consistent user interface. All of the buttons down the left column are uniform and break out into more specific sub-categories.

In the IE Tools section you'll find a Browser Helper Object Manager and an IE Restore feature to help fix problems that may happen with MS Internet Explorer. I've seen the BHO Manager in other registry software but the IE Restore feature is a nice extra feature that rounds out Registry Easy.

This is an area where Registry Easy really out does the competition by adding extra features that help manage the overall health of you computer. As you can see by the screenshot you can use the Tweak Memory feature to optimize your memory and there are other features to help you manage ActiveX, a System Optimizer, and some Error Utilities. These options and others are why I picked Registry Easy as my #1 recommendation since they add so much value to your purchase.

Many of the tools Registry Easy offers are things that you can do with tools already provided with the Windows operating system. Registry Easy just makes the tools easily accesible in one place. For example, if you click on the System Tools button you can manage which programs will load when your computer starts up or use the Uninstall Manager to remove unwanted software.

When you scan your computer for registry errors the progress is displayed in a similar fashion to the other registry cleaners that I've reviewed on this site. It displays a list of categories in the main window, a progress bar for the current file being analyzed, and a bar that shows the overall progress of the scan. A nice addition is the "Elapsed Time" indicator just above the progress bars.

It took Registry Easy 3 minutes and 47 seconds to discover 2610 problems on my computer. This is by far the fastest registry cleaner that I've reviewed. Registry Easy found more errors than RegCure and Registry Fix. Clicking on the plus sign next to one of the categories will reveal greater detail about the errors that were found so that you can choose which items you want to repair.

To buy Registry Easy just click on the Register buttton in the upper right of the program window, then click on the link in the lower left. You will need to fill out a form, including payment information and a serial number will be issued to you. Once you have the Serial Number just type it into the field and then you can fix your registry problems.
If you're not satisfied with Registry Easy, you can remove it by using the uninstall shortcut from the start menu or the control panel. It is removed from your computer easily and there isn't a last ditch nag screen to try to get you to purchase the software like other registry cleaners have.
