Absolutely nothing unless you need to clear the run command history. Why would you need to do that? Well, to create a more clear, step-by-step video screencast, of course. But why buy registry easy?

Does it ever seem to you that computers are never fast enough? You run out and buy the fastest, shiniest, newest coolest computer at your local electronics store and plug it in expecting the ride of your life to be let down. Well, not totally let down. I mean, the new GUI graphics are to die for, right?

There are some things that are handy to have easily accessible on your person. Like a pocket knife for example… or… a watch to check the time. I should know because I never carry any of these things and I’m always in need of them. Similarly, there are some things that are handy to have easily accessible on your Windows operating system, besides registry easy. And I recommend that you buy registry easy (if you haven’t already) to help simplify your computer maintenance tasks.

Yellow smiley balloon

Do you just want to get things done and not want to be bothered by little annoyances that get in the way and slow you down? I know that I certainly feel that way. Especially when I’m driving! But this post isn’t about those annoying people in front of you that talk on their cell phones and cause accidents.

Computers that boot up slowly and don’t run efficiently are a real bother to me too. So before we talk about getting rid of those bothersome balloon tips, discover how you can speed up your computer when you buy registry easy and use it to clean your dirty Windows operating system. Because life is too short to let these little things get in the way.

Manillia file folder with top secret stamped on the face

When you click the Start button on a Windows computer you normally see the name of the user account that is being used. Recently, I was doing a screencast and I didn’t want my user name exposed to the general public. At the time I just created a new account with a generic username and switched over whenever I wanted to record a tutorial or screencast.

Although this method has certain advantages I discovered another way to accomplish a similar task by making a simple edit in the Windows registry. Always back up your system registry before making edits. You can do it manually or use a tool like Registry Easy or Regcure to help simplify the process.

1. Open regedit.exe (If you don’t know how then you probably shouldn’t be doing this and you may find that you need to buy registry easy or some other registry repair tool to fix the registry)

A Help! key on a keyboard

There are a number of other things that you can and should do to keep your computer running smoothly. After all, you don’t get a one stop maintenance shop when you buy registry easy or other software to help maintain your computer. Let’s talk about the Windows desktop.

Hidden Face

When you boot up Windows all of the user accounts that you have created show on the welcome screen. Have you ever wanted to know how to create a hidden user account on a Windows computer? If so…you’ve come to the right place. This simple, 4-step, registry tweak will make it so that you won’t be able to see or select a user profile via the welcome screen when you boot your computer.  You should know that the account profile is still viewable through the Documents and Settings folder. Users with administrator rights will also be able to see the account by viewing Local Users and Groups. Keep this in mind if you’re trying to hide sensitive information.

So far we’ve covered cleaning the physical components of your computer in the Spring Clean Your Computer: Tip #1 post and backing up your data in the Spring Clean Your Computer: Tip #2 post. Now that you’ve created backups of your computer data it’s time to start cleaning up the files stored on your hard disk. It’s a good idea to buy registry easy to backup your system registry if you haven’t done so already. I’ll talk more about the Windows registry and how to maintain it later on in this series.

For whatever reason there may be times when you don’t want a drive to be accessible through Windows explorer. Maybe you’re trying to hide important information or something. With a simple registry tweak you can make those drives disappear. Whatever you do don’t fret because you can always access the drives using the command line or “Start -> Run…”.
