I found the installation wizard clean and easy to use. You will need at least 7.3MB of drive space to install this registry fix program. Registry Fix allows you to scan 16 different categories. You can select them individually according to your preference. You can save time by selecting only the categories that you suspect have registry errors. An unregistered copy of Registry Fix will only make repairs in the System Services, File Associations and Windows Fonts categories. When you select the Registry Fix "Preferences" button, you are presented with the window shown by the above screenshot. Registry Fix automatically makes a backup of items before making changes. You can change this preference here if you dare. You can also choose to run the registry program when Windows starts, select a place to store the Registry Fix log and magage the ignore list.

It's normal practice to include a backup manager in registry fix tools. Registry Fix isn't different in this regard. It offers all the functions you need to manage backups of your computer system so that you can restore settings should trouble arise.

You can do a variety of useful functions from the advanced options window of Registry Fix.
You can manage Browser Helper Objects (BHOs). BHOs are toolbars that run in your web browser. RegistryFix allows you to manage which BHOs you want to run when you launch your web browser.
You can get information about programs that automatically start when you boot your computer (Startup Programs) and stop them from running.
You can choose to hide or show programs that are installed on your computer and displayed in the Add/Remove program list. This is especially useful if other people use your computer and you don't want them to remove software that is important to you.

When you start the scan an embedded window appears that lists the areas that Registry Fix was set to scan. The section name, number of problems found and the status of the scan are displayed.
A progress bar is shown along the bottom with a readout of the files that Registry Fix is scanning. There is also an "Abort Scan" button in the lower right that you can use to stop the scan at any time.
For this Registry Fix review the scan didn't seem to take as long as the RegCure scan.

When the scan was finished, Registry Fix showed a total 1295 problems on my computer and broke down how many errors where found in each category. Each category had a description and you could drill down further by clicking a "View Details" link as shown above.

Conclusion
I found the interface that RegCure uses to be simpler and more consistent than Registry Fix. However Registry Fix has useful features that RegCure doesn't offer. Registry Fix is quality software that delivers everything you would expect from a registry fix tool.
