Registry Genius Download and Installation
The Regsistry Genius setup file is a 1.6 MB download. I installed Registry Genius version 3.2. At least 5.7 MB of free disk space is required for installation.
The Registry Genius license agreement states, "Our applications do not contain adware or spyware of any kind."
By default a Windows Desktop Shortcut icon and Quick Launch icon are created. You can choose to create one or the other, both or none through the setup wizard.
Overview of Registry Genius
Registry Genius has all of the features that Registry Easy has but wrapped in a much cleaner user interface. You can view a list of Registry Genius basic features. Scroll down and you'll see the list in the lower right corner.

When first started, the main program window or Scan button of Registry Genius includes 17 different sections that can be examined. All of the sections are selected by default. If you choose to deselect any number of them, a check box to select all sections has been provided for convenience.
The interface is simple and clean with three buttons down the left column and the Scan Now button located, predictably, in the lower right corner of the application window.

Whenever any changes are made to the Windows registry a backup will automatically be created. You can manage all of these backups with the Backup button. This feature is common in all registry optimization software.

At first glance Registry Genius seems like it's a very simple registry scan and repair tool, and nothing more, but clicking the "Advanced" button reveals a bunch of useful extra tools to help manage your computer.

Clicking on the Scan Now button will begin the scan. Registry Genius will show the progress of each section of the scan with two bars along the bottom. It shows the elapsed time and a total number of problems found. Remember that you will need to purchase Registry Genius to fix any registry errors that the scan will find.

This preferences window looks exacly like the one that Registry Easy uses. You'll find options to update the software, run Registry Genius at windows startup, manage the Ignore List, and schedule Registry Genius to run automatically.

Click on the Register button to buy Registry Genius. You will need to get a serial number which will be mailed to you immediately after you purchase the software. Enter the serial number in the field and click on the Submit button to get access to all of the tools Registry Genius has to offer. You will not be able to fix any of the errors that are discovered on your computer until you purchase the software.
